We take pride in crafting BDSM furniture that’s not only visually striking and built to last but also tailored to fit you perfectly. That’s why every piece we create is made to your specific measurements. In this article, we explain how to take the required measurements. Know that this is an important step: once your furniture is built, the measurements cannot be adjusted. So take your time, investigate and avoid guessing. Feel free to ask any questions, but please try to follow our explanation below and sort this out yourself as much as possible. We hope this guide is clear and helps you.
And then there is this: imperial, metric, UK size, EU size, USA size. Please know that we are based in the Netherlands and we use the metric system over here. So we prefer that, but feel free to go imperial on us. Please don’t provide shoe sizes, as they vary greatly between brands, countries, and regions. If you still want to go from shoe sizes, fine, but use this conversion table to convert them to centimeters.
Regular VS Adjustable
We offer two types of tickle stocks: the regular version, and the adjustable version. In case you have just one ticklee (or a couple with the same size feet and ankles), the regular version is perfect for you. In case of multiple ticklees, with various foot and ankle sizes, please go for the adjustable version. If you already ordered and want to change your order, no problem, contact us on the platform you placed you order, or through mail on mail@badcatfurniture.nl
Measurements
In general we need two set of measurements:
1. The size of the feet, as measured from heel to toe.
2. The size of the ankle, expressed in width and depth.
To measure the size of the feet:
Place the feet of your ticklee against a wall and measure from the wall to the tip of the toes.
PLEASE NOTE:
- On the regular stocks, the size of the feet is fixed (it does fit slightly different feet sizes, like within 1cm (about a third of an inch) difference between feet is still okay)
- On the adjustable stocks, please take the AVERAGE ticklee foot size. From this size, the toe bar is adjustable in steps: max 2,5cm (1 inch) up or down (so a 5 cm (2 inch) range in total)
To measure the size of the ankles:
IMPORTANT: It is ALWAYS best to download and print out our templates. These templates show five ovals based on the most common ankle sizes. The ovals resemble the exact size and shape of the cuffs. Print them, cut out the inside of the ovals and test them on your ticklee’s ankle to find what size fits the best. Download it here in LETTER or on A4. Of course, you can also make combinations (the width of one, combined with the depth of the other). All sizes are possible.
Please provides us with the width and depth of the ankle, measured on the spot where the cuff will be (this is above the malleolus (the bony bump on the ankle)). These measurements create the form and shape of the cuff opening. So they form the oval openings in the stocks where the ticklees ankles will be locked in. By width we mean the size of the ankle, measured from the left side to the right side of it. By depth we mean the size of the ankle, measured from the front of the ankle to the back.
- In case you have ordered the adjustable stocks, please take the measurements from the BIGGEST ticklee you expect. Unlike the flexible toe bar, the cuff opening size is fixed. So: go with the biggest ankle to make this work. If you expect big size differences between ticklees, considering ordering our additional padding. This is like a leather wrap around the ankle that can be used to fill in empty space around the ankle, to overcome size differences.
PLEASE NOTE:
- The in build padding of the stocks is OUTSIDE the oval. So OUTSIDE the measurements you provide. In other words, the inside of the cuff (the leather lining of it) will be the size of the ankle; will be the size that you provide here. The in build padding is pretty firm, but can be compressed about 5mm all around.
- The measurements provided by you should not be bigger or smaller “taking in account something”. They should just be the measurements of the ticklee’s ankle. Then it will fit.
- When measuring, be careful to not fold the measuring tape around the ankle, just hold it next to it in a straight line and measure it like that. A trick can be to place two 4cm thick books against the ankle, keeping them parallel and measure the distance between the books. Do this from side to side to get the width and from back to front to get the depth.
