Things people wonder about. Answered honestly.
Why are the prices on the Etsy shop different than your website
A couple of reasons. First, Etsy charges listing fees, transaction fees, and takes a percentage of every sale — including the shipping. Of course they have costs and this is totally fair.
Second, Etsy’s shipping system doesn’t allow us to calculate precise shipping costs and import duties for every country. So there is some margin and buffer to make sure the shipping costs get paid. On our own website, shipping is calculated live based on your actual location, the real weight and dimensions of your order, and import duties are pre-paid — so no unexpected bills at the door.
The result is that prices here are often lower and shipping is more accurate.
How long until my order is ready to ship?
All our items are custom, handmade and built to fit you specifically. That takes time. Expect somewhere between 2 weeks and 2 months, depending on the complexity of the piece and how busy the workshop is.
We won’t rush it. You wouldn’t want us to.
How long will shipping take?
Within the EU, packages typically arrive in 2 to 5 days. Customs doesn’t apply for fellow EU residents, so that’s the easy part.
Outside the EU, count on 4 to 8 days under normal circumstances.
Sometimes customs holds a package for a while. This is outside our control. Please be patient — so far, every single order has made it to its destination.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping rates are calculated live at checkout based on your location and the size and weight of your order. We don’t mark up shipping — you pay what we pay. Exact costs are shown before you confirm your order.
Why do you ship DDP — and what does that mean?
DDP stands for Delivered Duty Paid. It means we handle and pre-pay any import duties and taxes before your package reaches you. You won’t get a surprise bill from your local customs office.
We switched to DDP after a few customers received unexpected import charges and weren’t thrilled about it. In some cases the bills even came back to us after the fact. DDP avoids all of that. The duty cost is included in the shipping rate shown at checkout — nothing more will show up at your door.
Can I cancel or return my order?
Unfortunately, no. Because every item is built specifically for you — to your measurements and specifications — we cannot accept returns or cancellations once production has begun. If you have second thoughts before we’ve started building, get in touch as soon as possible and we’ll see what we can do. Once the wood is cut and the leather is on, that’s your piece.
This is standard practice for custom-made goods and is also covered under EU consumer law, which exempts made-to-measure items from the usual 14-day return right. So please order carefully, measure twice, and don’t hesitate to contact us before ordering if you have any doubts.
That being said: we will look with you for the right solution, and if your order has fairly standard sizes, it might be returnable.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes. We build our furniture to last and we stand behind that. Under normal use, our pieces have a lifetime guarantee against defects in build quality or materials.
If something needs to be repaired or replaced, get in touch. In some cases we ask to split the shipping costs between us.
A note on safe and sane play
Everything we build is intended for use between consenting adults. Please make sure everyone involved is willing, aware and able to communicate. Always have a way for the restrained person to signal distress, and never leave someone unattended in bondage furniture.
Our furniture is designed with ergonomics in mind — discomfort should be the kind you choose, not the kind caused by bad design. That said, know your limits and check in regularly.
We are not responsible for any injuries resulting from the use of our products. Play safe, play smart.
